Emma Watson Fashion Style Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two

Fashionista extraordinaire Emma Watson has been on a high fashion binge for the last month for all of her and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two promotional events. From Balmain & to Valentino and , her choice of outfits constantly keeps us captivated and insanely jealous.

Emma stepped up her stylista status just last month when she bagged the cover of the July 2011 edition of American Vogue. Looking all grown-up and glamorous she wears a chic Prada Fall 2011 paillette dress accessorized with a pair of bangles by Ben-Amun and a flower ring. The dark lipstick, eye makeup & slicked back hairstyle make for a stunning look.

On the 6th July Emma Watson stunned her fans at the St. Pancras Hotel in London for the  and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 photo call. She opted for a Rafael Lopez black lace mini dress with tiered sleeves and skirt.

On the 7th July Emma attends the London Premiere of and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two and charmingly works her fashion magic.  The sensational fluffy tulle princess dress by  makes her look like she’s just stepped out of a fairy tale. We adore the pale blue colour and the intricately beaded bodice. Prior to attending the premiere she also dazzled in a beautiful pale pink long-sleeved Valentino Fall 2011 RTW dress and a pair of nude pumps.

Later that evening, she switched into a more comfortable yet just as exquisite dress. The sparkly little number is girly, frilly & frothy and is perfect for her. It’s a hard colour to pull off without looking washed out but Emma manages it! She paired the dress with matching Giuseppe Zanotti satin double platform peep-toes and Chopard earrings.

On the 11th July Emma Watson invested in some stylish bling at the David Letterman Late show, in New York. She was seen wearing this chic Balmain Fall 2011 dress. with some classy Coroclic wedges from Christian Louboutin.

Continuing on the promotional trail, Emma then attends the New York premiere of and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two on the 12th July wearing a glamorous Bottega Veneta gown with dramatic gothic eyes and slicked back hair.

Despite her recent fashion parade, and although Emma has unprecedented access to clothes from the most excusive fashion labels in the world, she has recently revealed to contactmusic that her favourite outfit ever was the one she wore to a ‘’ premiere aged 14 because of the effort she made in creating a distinctive look.

She recalled: “I’ve loved every dress I’ve worn for a premiere but probably the best is the purple dress from the 1920s.

“My mum and I found it in a vintage shop. It was torn but we had it repaired. The one rip we couldn’t mend we covered with a corsage.

“We dyed shoes to match and found vintage silk flowers for my hair. That was the first time I felt I was creating my own look so, although it wasn’t perfect by any means, that dress will always be special to me.”

Christmas Party Dresses- (Part 2!)

Picking That Perfect Dress!

Christmas party dresses always come in luxurious fabrics and rich colours that you often can’t get away with at other times of the year so continuing with our Christmas Party Dresses blog (see below)  help and tips, we decided to dedicate a whole post on choosing the type of dress according to the material & shade!

Velvet

For 2010 velvet has made a comeback especially after Emma Watson rocked up to a glitzy event at Claridges this month with her co-stars wearing a beautiful Vionnet dress.

This can be a tricky fabric to wear but if you match it with lace or chiffon it can have a luxuriously rich look.

If you can’t afford to spend too much then stick to darker shades as they look more expensive and keep your make-up fresh when wearing velvet as dark tones on both your lips and eyes could end up giving you the 90’s velvet look and not the 2010 one!

Don’t overdo it- wear just one velvet piece, and never ever wear a velvet dress with a velvet jacket as it’s way too panto!

Satin

Satin is always a popular choice for Christmas, because it makes you feel instantly dressed up, sexy & feminine. The good thing about satin is it can also be worn easily throughout the rest of the year so it’s a good fabric to go for if you want to buy something that will work next season as well.

Satin drapes beautifully over the skin, but it can also cling awkwardly over bulges (no matter how small!) so do make sure you get a really good fitting dress if choosing satin. It’s often worth investing in seamless underwear and if you have lumps and bumps you want to cover invest in some great shapewear to add smoothness. It’s always a good idea to go for something that has some added stretch to it, and a cotton-mix sateen fabric is always flattering especially if it is lined.

Like with velvet don’t overdo it- stick to one or two satin pieces at a time and keep accessories to a minimum- it’s a beautiful & luxurious fabric & the fabric is enough to do the talking!

Embellished

Us girls do love a bit of sparkle at Christmas, and jewelled or are great way to still be able to wear a safe colour (Like black!) without looking boring. It also means you can keep jewellery to a minimum so can end up more cost-effective!

Keep the look classy and and don’t overdo it with the sparkles- you don’t want to look like you’re auditioning for strictly come dancing! If you’re curvy do only wear the embellishment in one area as all-over glitz will make you look bigger than you are.

Finally, check the quality before you buy and look for secure stitching. Leaving a trail of beads in your wake is no way to make a lasting impression!

Colour Block

Wearing just one block colour is really in style right now, and as ever the shops are full or lots of reds & purples this Christmas. For us at Pinksquid Clothing, the most interesting colour of the season has been magenta pink. It’s a great stand out colour that suits most skin tones, and will ensure you’ll look a little bit different from the rest of the ladies at the party.

If you’re going to go for one colour all over. Do make sure the colour flatters your skin tone, and if you do opt for red, don’t overdo it with the fake tan- red looks so much more striking on natural skin tones. You can really create impact with red as well by matching your lipstick to it and keeping your eye make-up to a minimum.

If you really want the colour of your outfit to make an impact you could also wear a contrasting coloured belt to show off your waist!
