Hot Pink Dresses Trend 2012 – Celebrity Style Alert!
Rihanna, J-Lo and Tulisa are all going bold in this season’s favourite hue!
Some of our favourite Celebrity Fashionistas have been rocking the red carpet in searingly hot pink frocks recently and it’s proving to be one of this season’s biggest trends. With the British weather still cold & miserable, this vivid colour is certain to brighten up even the wettest of days!
To pull this look off, choose a dress that’s fairly simple in shape and let the colour do the talking! Hot pink looks especially good with black and gives it a sophisticated edge: black court shoes and a simple black clutch are the perfect accessories for a bright pink dress.
Some of the most stylish ladies in Celebville have been seen in hot pink dresses this year, with Rihanna standing out as our favourite last week at the TIME’S 100 Most Influential People In The World gala in New York wearing a gorgeously girlie Marchesa dress and simple black shoes.

Colleen Rooney also donned a hot pink dress recently when she attended the first day of the Aintree races in Liverpool. Also complimenting her dress with black, she wears a black belt and patent peep-toes.
For the filming of American Idol, Jennifer Lopez packed a punch in a long-sleeved hot pink Alexander McQueen dress complete with thigh-high split whilst Eva Longoria picked a sleeveless number earlier this year, keeping the cut simple and allowing the colour to do the talking.
At a charity event last week Heather Graham kept the look toned down in a stylish shift dress while TOWIE’s Sam Faiers added black tights to her flattering peplum dress at the launch of a Barbie: A Mermaid’s Tale.
Tulisa unfortunately took the look a little too far with her feather dress at the National Television awards, the silver shoes cheapen the look and she’s more feather duster than pretty flamingo….

Victoria Beckham Celebrity Style Dress- Pink & Black Scalloped Dress
Pink & Black Scalloped Victoria Beckham Style Dress Back In Stock
Victoria Beckham has been a busy lady recently! When she’s not dashing around in her skyscraper heels with baby Harper on her arm, or hitting the town with BFF’s Eva Longoria and Kate Beckinsale, she’s busy designing her various collections and showing them at London fashion week. In fact, Victoria has made such a big name for herself in the world of fashion that she recently won the award for ‘Designer Brand Of The Year’ at the British Fashion awards.
Her new line ‘Victoria’, debuted at Harvey Nics this season, and amongst the fabulous outfits, a stand-out ‘It’ dress emerged which has now been seen on many celebrity fashionistas including Olivia Palermo, Celine Buckens and Michelle Williams. Since it went on sale at Harvey Nichols, this £595 dress has become the ultimate must-have dress and it has a very long waiting-list!
The “scalloped neck with drop waist” dress as it is known comes in pink, blue or monochrome. Olivia Palermo was seen in the blue version, choosing to accessorise it with her Armani jacket and a pair of sheer black tights and Michelle Williams has been seen in the black and white version of the dress, which she wore to the BAFTA Los Angeles 18th Annual Awards Season Tea Party recently.
Never one to shy away from self promotion, Victoria wore the pink version herself during a shopping trip to the Balenciaga store in New York, and Celine Buckens made an appearance in the same dress at the premiere of her film ‘War Horse’ in January.
If you love the dress but don’t like the sound of the hefty price tag or just can’t be bothered to join the long waiting list, we have a very similar replica of the pink dress available now at Pinksquid Clothing for a rather reasonable £37.99.

Victoria in the pretty pink-and-black scallop-detail dress which she paired with chunky Christian Louboutin ankle boots and signature VB large blacked-out sunnies.

Next up was the adorable Celine Buckens who attended the London premiere of her latest movie, ‘War Horse’, wearing the same dress with Laurence Coste statement jewels, equally bedazzling peep-toes and a black clutch.

As the pink-and-black version had two run-outs, Michelle Williams decided upon the white-and-black version whilst attending the BAFTA Los Angeles 19th Annual Awards Season Tea Party in Beverly Hills last month. The pixie-haired actress decided to veto any jewellery and go for a more simplistic look by accessorizing with a plain black box clutch with matching black pumps.

Optical Illusion Dresses
Optical illusion dresses have become a huge trend in 2012, and it’s not difficult to see why! Put one of these figure-flattering dresses on and you’ll not only look slimmer, but you’ll have an hour-glass figure to die for! The body con fit with cunning side panels takes “optical” inches off your waist and simultaneously produces an increased cup size- all in the blink of an eye! If you want an hour-glass figure then you need an optical illusion dress!
We love this style because not only does it move away from the stick-thin trend, it actually seriously embraces curves meaning no need for any more silly diets! In fact with this dress, the curvier you are, the better!
Thanks to creations by top designers such as Stella McCartney, celebrities have been shaving inches off of their figures already this season, with the likes of Kate Moss, Kim Kardashian, Yasmin le Bon, Kate Winslet and Towie’s Jessica Wright all pouring their curves into their eye-tricking gowns!
This gorgeous group of fashionista celebrities show us how this clever dress has become their secret weapon for fiercer and more fabulous curves! (And for those of you who don’t have the designer budget, we’ve got a fabulous full-length optical illusion dress below as well!)

Polka Dot Trend: Pussybow Spot Print Blouse At Pinksquid Clothing
Polka dot prints are one of 2012′s biggest trends!
We’re loving spot prints at the moment! Previously associated with Minnie Mouse and itsy bitsy bikinis, the polka dot has never been a fashion favourite. Until now, that is…..
Thanks to top designers such as Marc Jacobs, Henry Holland and Stella McCartney, the print feels fresh and new and is one of spring’s most striking trends. We’re particularly loving polka dots on blouses, and it’s a trend that’s been seen on many celebrities including fashion icons Fearne Cotton, Rihanna and Alexa Chung.
The monochrome spot print blouse adds some fun to an outfit whilst still keeping the look smart and chic. Team with wet-look leggings or shorts & tights for a night out, wear with skinny jeans & pumps for a more casual look, or team with some smart trousers & heels for work! You can always add a little colour by wearing bright lipstick matched to a bright bag or shoes. Just remember to keep the look minimal- spots on one item of clothing is enough!
We’ve got a cute chiffon spot print blouse available at Pinksquid Clothing. With it’s sheer fabric, loose style, black and white polka dots and pussybow neckline this is sexy, comfortable and bang on trend!
Celebs are going dotty for the look as well!
Dipped Hem Dresses -Shop the 2012 Trend
Draped trains, dip backs, mullet hems… Whatever you call them, this contemporary silhouette is a feminine way to add a little va-va-voom to your look….
We have a hem obsession… a dipped hem obsession. So dramatic and flattering, they completely eliminate that whole “I want to wear a mini, but don’t want to be paranoid about my bum hanging out” vibe.
They fill the difficult void between mini and midi perfectly, as they cover, yet at the same time expose your legs– Genius!
The dipped hem dress makes it simple to liven up up your summer wardrobe and they are perfect for summer holidays and festivals alike!
The runways were awash with some lovely dip hem dresses, and the trend has also been championed by some of our favourite celebs like Kourtney Kardashian.
We have a beautiful chiffon dipped hem dress at Pinksquid Clothing and you can choose from an on-trend blush pink shade or classic black. Team with skyscraper heels and a killer attitude to rock the look!
Oscars Fashion 2012 – The Dresses Steal The Show
The Oscars took place on Sunday night and the fashion on the red carpet was in the spotlight as much as the films…
As the awards season comes to an end, the fashion at the Oscars 2012 didn’t disappoint!
The dresses overall were an eclectic lot, and strapless looks, long sleeves, and white gowns aside, there were surprisingly few running trends emerging on the red carpet. Colours and silhouettes were all over the place- but to be honest we think it made it far more interesting!
Here are our top picks:
We have to mention Gwyneth Paltrow first because she was our stand-out favourite. She took a big fashion risk with her Tom Ford white caped gown, but it definitely paid off. Not only did she look stunning, but it was completely unlike anything else on the red carpet. The simple but elegant outfit just goes to show there’s no need for frills, jewels, bells or whistles to look a total knockout!
Angelina Jolie wore her velvet full-skirted Versace dress with attitude! Making the most of her thigh-high split, she flashed acres of long, lithe leg in her daring gown. With her provocative posing and determination to show off her enviable limb, Angelina managed to make her leg the star of the night (and she wasn’t even nominated!)
Michelle Williams who was up for best actress, wore a beautiful coral red tulle Louis Vuitton gown, and added a much-needed pop of colour to the red carpet. The strapless dress had pleated & ruffle detailing, a peplum waist and a small bow at the hip. Sporting a short, blonde pixie cut, Michelle paired the red dress with a Fred Leighton forevermark necklace, featuring 30 carats worth of diamonds, and a deep red lipstick. We love her vibrant look!
Another lady in red was previous Oscar winner, Natalie Portman. As the face of Miss Dior, we expected her to wear something from the French fashion house, however we weren’t expecting this stunning 1954 vintage number. She teamed the dress with a Charlotte Olympia box clutch and a dazzling V-shaped Harry Winston necklace.
Penelope Cruz brought a touch of old-school Hollywood glamour to the proceedings with her princess-like Armani gown. Channeling Grace Kelly, she matched her dreamy blue dress with twinkling Chopard diamonds and a classic up-do.
We also adored Stacy Keibler’s Marchesa dress. Looking like an Oscar statuette, this dress was perfect for the academy awards, and the metallic sheen of the dress looks amazing with her blonde hair and glowing complexion. George Clooney was also the perfect accessory!
We had to mention Octavia Spencer as well. Not only did she win the best supporting actress award, she was also one of the best dressed. She really made a splash in her super-flattering beaded silk and tulle Tadashi Shoji gown -a designer she’s remained loyal to throughout the awards season. The gown was paired with Jimmy Choo shoes, a Judith Leiber clutch and Neil Lane diamonds for added sparkle!
